Running
2K
The 1.24 mile walk/run is a scenic loop that takes walkers/runners southeast along the perimeter trail of the Crossroads property, through the coniferous woods and over the wooden bridge north of the Hanson House historical site. Walkers will follow the east side of Big Creek and meander west over the wooden foot bridge. Continuing north, walkers will go past the amphitheater and head west around Hauser pond to the finish line. Trail includes single and double track, with grass, wood chip, gravel, and dirt foundations. Each mile is marked.
5K
This course follows the perimeter trail of the Crossroads property, through the coniferous woods, and over the wooden bridge north of the Hanson House historical site. Runners/walkers will follow the east side of Big Creek and head west over the wooden foot bridge. Crossing the creek to the east, runners will weave down through white pines and ascend to the mile 2 mark. Runners will cross into the east trail system, head north on grassy trails past the Stonecipher Astronomy center and will follow the trail around the Maki Arboretum. Runners then take a right into the spruce forest, cruise by the council fire ring and cross Big Creek via a wooden bridge on the way to the finish line. Trail includes single and double track, with grass, wood chip, gravel, and dirt foundations. Each mile is marked.
10K
This course follows the 5K route, splitting off at the southeast corner, entering the Cove Preserve at Big Creek. Runners will leave Crossroads property and continue up Cove Road to hook up with our Ida Bay Preserve’s single track. Heading south on Ida Bay’s grassy trail, runners will pass through an old field meadow, enter a mixed hardwood forest of oak and maple, wind down past a rock escarpment and through a cathedral of cedar and spruce. The return will find runners merging into the 5K route at the Hansen House entrance, completing the last 3 miles to the finish line.
