A Race for Everyone – No Training Required!
Join us for the first annual VFW post 99.1 K fun run, a lighthearted “race” that’s only 0.1 km (about 328 feet) - Perfect for all ages and fitness levels! This family, friendly event is all about having fun, supporting veterans, and bringing the community together.
Whether you walk, jog, skip, or stroll, we’ll cross the “finish line” with a smile – and help raise funds for programs that support veterans and their families through the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) National Home and local initiatives.
Come for the laughs, stay for the camaraderie, food, and festivities. Costumes, patriotic outfits, and a good sense of humor are highly encouraged!

ENTER THE RACE EVERYONE CAN FINISH! When: Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at 11:00 AM Where: VFW Post 99, 3920 MLK Jr Dr, Decatur, IL 62526 What: Race At Your Own Pace for a distance of .1K (328 feet) Why: To raise funds for the VFW Post 99 to help local veterans and the military community Schedule of events will be posted closer to race day, but we plan a full morning of activities beginning at 8 AM! Please check our Facebook page for the latest information. Register early to guarantee a complete race packet with T-shirt and a .1K race sticker. However, registrations will be accepted up to and including the day of the race. Sponsorship opportunities for our .1K are available now, so don’t hesitate to contact us about sponsorship opportunities. Donations are always accepted.
