About this race
********COURSE/RUN CHANGES for 2026********
The Hart County Running Club has announced significant course and distance changes for this year’s event. Due to upcoming floodgate maintenance by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the top of the dam and adjacent roads will be closed periodically throughout 2026. As a result, the course has been modified and will not cross the dam or access Highway 29.
This year’s run will be limited to a 4K run/walk, and the 10K option will not be offered.
We appreciate your understanding and hope these temporary adjustments will not discourage your participation. You can still expect a beautiful lakeside route and a great race experience!
Join fellow runners on May 3, 2025 for the 48th Annual Lake Hartwell Dam Run. It's a fantastic 5K, 10K featuring a flat and fast course in Hartwell.
Pick your distance
Running
5K Run/Walk
Runners will be bussed to the start across the lake at Singing Pines Park in South Carolina. The last bus leaves at 8:15am. Be there or end up running the 10K! Also, there are limited restroom facilities at Singing Pines Park.
10K Run
Runners must be able to complete a 15:00min/mile pace. Start for the 10K is at Big Oaks recreation area.
