About this race
Join us for the annual Market Street Mission 5K Race for Recovery 4th of July! We are excited to see you at Central Park of Morris County on July 4! Proceeds from the event will support the programs of the Market Street Mission, a non-profit organization providing hope and healing to those struggling with hunger, homelessness, and addiction throughout New Jersey. We encourage you to show your support for those who are striving for recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and help provide the necessary programs and resources - like free meals, overnight shelter, and a long-term residential recovery program - for those in need in the community.

5K Race
Run our scenic cross country course featuring a wide starting area, tree lined paths, flowing water, and the sounds of nature (and wild course marshals). Perfect for beginners and pros alike! Water will be available in 3 locations as you run. This event includes a souvenir tech tee! Each meal provided by the Market Street Mission costs $2.82. Our early bird fee represents the cost of approximately 10 meals and care provided by the Mission to those in need in our local community! Thank you for making a difference!
Virtual 5K
Run (or walk) your 5K at home! This does not include attendance at our live, in-person event and is offered for those who can't join us on 7/4. Join us from anywhere in the world! This event includes a souvenir tech tee, which will be mailed to you. Each meal provided by the Market Street Mission costs $2.82. Our early bird fee represents the cost of approximately 10 meals and care provided by the Mission to those in need in our local community! Thank you for making a difference!
Walking
2 Mile Freedom Walk
Our 2 mile walk course utilizes portions of the scenic 5K cross country course. All walkers will begin after the runners to ensure course safety. The 2 mile route will pass a water station half-way through. If you require a more stable pathway, you are welcome to complete your distance around the tennis courts as we have done in years' past. This event includes a souvenir tech tee! Each meal provided by the Market Street Mission costs $2.82.
