THE 6TH ANNUAL MOGADISHU MILE KENTUCKY
Run. Honor. Remember.
Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 8:00 AM
Queenslake Horse Farm · 292 Soards Road · Georgetown, Kentucky
Registration is FREE.
On October 3, 1993, 19 American soldiers lost their lives during the Battle of Mogadishu — one of the most intense urban combat engagements in U.S. military history. Surrounded and under fire, those soldiers fought through the streets of Somalia to reach their fallen brothers. That desperate run became known as the Mogadishu Mile. Every year on the first Saturday of October, we gather at Queenslake Horse Farm in Georgetown, Kentucky to honor their sacrifice — and to carry their memory forward one mile at a time.
WHAT IS THE MOGADISHU MILE CHALLENGE?
This is not your average 5K. The Mogadishu Mile Kentucky is a military-style obstacle challenge set across the stunning grounds of Queenslake Horse Farm. Teams and individuals push through a course that includes 5 obstacles (taken from the following list): Tire Flips, Ball Slams, Box Jumps, Battle Ropes, Push-ups, Hay Bale Carries, Burpies, Chain drags, Water Crossing.
You can compete as an individual or as a team. Rucking (carrying a weighted pack) is required. Every finisher crosses the same finish line — the one those 19 soldiers never stopped fighting toward.
NEW IN 2026: LIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL
After the challenge, stay for Kentucky's newest military tribute music festival. Live bands, food, drinks, and community — all set against the backdrop of one of Central Kentucky's most beautiful horse farms. This is a full day of remembrance, celebration, and gratitude.
WHO SHOULD SIGN UP?
Everyone. Veterans, active duty military, first responders, fitness enthusiasts, families, and anyone who wants to honor the fallen. No experience with obstacle races is required. The course is challenging but completable — the point is to show up, give your best, and remember why we run. Warriors on Wheels participants are warmly welcomed.

6th Annual Mogadishu Mile Kentucky at Queenslake Horse Farm
The 6th Annual Mogadishu Mile Kentucky — the first and finest Mogadishu Mile event in the Bluegrass State. When we established the Mogadishu Mile in Kentucky, we didn't just host a race. We built an experience worthy of the 19 soldiers it honors. Six years later, we're still setting the standard. The Mogadishu Mile Challenge is a 1.8-mile military-style obstacle course spread across a sprawling 140-acre farm and a 40-acre lake, and 19 plaques along the course to honor the fallen at Queenslake Horse Farm in Georgetown, Kentucky. Participants navigate tire flips, ball slams, box jumps, push-ups, hay bale carries, chain drags, ammo can carries, a water crossing, and a wooded trail run before crossing the finish line. You may compete as an individual or as a team. Rucking (carrying a weighted pack) is encouraged but not required. All fitness levels are welcome — this event is about showing up and honoring the fallen, not finishing first. After you cross the finish line, the celebration begins. Runners enjoy free laser treatments, massage, and tattoos at the finish line village. Then stay for the live music festival on our custom 40x30 stage — a full afternoon of music, food, and community honoring American freedom. The highlight of the day: the Friesian Horse Salute and Tribute to the 19 — a solemn and breathtaking ceremony honoring each of the soldiers lost on October 3, 1993. Check-in opens at 7:00 AM. The challenge begins at 8:00 AM. We were the first to bring Mogadishu Mile to Kentucky. Come see why we're still the best.
