7th Annual Totally Fun TuTu Run
This event was created to teach the importance of physical fitness while inspiring our future front-runners to lead happy healthy lifestyles and encouraging them to love their bodies. A recent report from the Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute reveals that the overweight prevalence was 31% higher among Baltimore City high school students when compared to Maryland high school students, statewide. Obesity is a serious public health issue in Baltimore City that not only impacts overall quality of life, but is also linked to serious health conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. Combating obesity requires increasing physical activity levels and improving dietary patterns. The Totally Fun TuTu Run will provide necessary exposure to exercise and a healthy diet, which together not only fight off disease, but lay the foundation for a healthy future.
