It is exciting to bring you another exquisite day of racing alongside the scenic Arkansas River! This is a fast course that starts in Pueblo's City Park then you quickly drop down to the scenic river trail, where you will be encompassed with nonstop gorgeous terrain and scenery. This smooth path will lead you along the river with kayakers and wildlife galore. You will hit some dirt trails as you head west to our Nature Center and then swoop around the corner to an open field where deer are usually always in sight. You will then head back along the trail and hopefully with fast footing and well refreshed as there are several water/gatorade stations along the way. Make sure to give a big "hello" to our high-school and club runners at the aid stations!
Every year this race gets a host of runners going for their first 13.1 goals, return racers that have made this race a tradition year after year, and showcases many elite trail and road racers. The array of accomplishing racers have been a joy to see as they take on this fast course and come through the finish line!

The race starts and ends on the east side of Pueblo City Park. The race runs about 2.25 miles in City Park, then drops down to the Arkansas River Trail. It is basically an out and back course going about 5 miles west to the base of Pueblo Dam and back. It will be run on dirt roads and dirt trails along the Arkansas River with a short distance on concrete trail and asphalt road in City Park. Runners enjoy great views along the river and no traffic. The course is flat, however, there is one short, steep hill about 12.5 miles into the race, which goes from the river trail back up to City Park. All miles are clearly marked, both on the trail and above ground in case of snow. There are 7 water stops, the first has only water the rest have water and Gatorade. Bring your own gel. This is an event for runners (or runners who walk some) and can complete the distance in 3:00 hours or less (14 min/mile) - the race will end at 12:00 pm. Athletes who take longer than that place a hardship on our volunteers who must stay out on the course until all participants have finished. In December, we are not guaranteed nice weather and it is unfair to ask volunteers to stand out in the cold longer than 3 hours. Thank you for understanding. Registration will close November 30th or when we reach 750 entrants—no exceptions. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.
