11th Annual Walk|Run for Kids

Proceeds from this event benefit seriously ill children and their families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of El Paso while their child receives medical care at an area hospital in El Paso or Las Cruces. Our champion programs improve the health, education, and well-being of children and their families. During the online registration process, you can register as an individual, start your own team and even join an existing team. Add Team Members at any time!  Day of Event Registration will be at 6:30 am at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino.  Last year, the team from Wet n' Wild, "Freddy's Wild Sliders" won the TROPHY for the Largest Team Challenge.  They recruited 130 members!!  Will they'll have to pass the trophy down to a new team winner for 2026?  Will it be you and your team?   Can't make it to the event but still want to support our mission? T-Shirt & Swag Bag Pick Up Info:

Swag Bags can be picked up at Ronald McDonald House on Thursday, Oct 1st, and on Friday, Oct 2nd from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. -Team bags can be picked up by one individual. -If you are picking up five or more packets, please call ahead at (915) 542-1522 so we can have your packets ready before you arrive. -If you purchased socks, they will be included with your bag. Ronald McDonald House is located at 300 E. California Avenue, El Paso, TX 79902, North of Downtown El Paso. If you have any questions please call (915) 542-1522 and ask for Loretta.   AGE GROUP FOR MEDALS: -Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place MALE AND FEMALE finishers in the following age groups:

• 12 and Under
• 13-17
• 18-24
• 25-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60-69
• 70+

*Winners will be announced after the start of the 1 Mile Fun Walk.                                                      EVENT CHALLENGES:

BEST DRESSED PET - Dress up your pet in their most unique costume and bring them along to walk or run during the event! All leashed pets are welcome to walk with you! The most unique costumes will win gift cards to Pet's Barn. First, second and third place winners will be announced after the 1 Mile Walk. Bonus points if the costumes align with our mission! 

BEST DRESSED TEAM -  Get Creative! We love a good theme and can't wait to see what your team comes up with.  Winners will be announced before the start of the 1 Mile Walk. 

LARGEST TEAM - Last year, the Wet n' Wild Team "Freddy's Wild Sliders" WON the TROPHY in a come-back upset for the Largest Team Challenge! They recruited 130 members!! Will they have to pass the trophy down to a new winner for 2026?  Will it be you and your team? YES! You can do it!

REGISTRATION DATES:

Special Online Early Bird Registration through August 3, 2026 Early Birds get a discount on registration and are guaranteed to receive an Official Walk/Run T-shirt in your preferred size and a Swag Bag full of goodies provided by our sponsors. Regular Online Registration starts August 4 - Sept 14, 2026 When you register by Sept 14, 2026 you are guaranteed to receive an Official Walk/Run T-shirt in your preferred size, and a Swag Bag. Late Online Registration is Sept 15, 2026 - Oct 3, 2026 The last day to register online for the in-person event is the day of the event. Swag Bags will be available but LIMITED on a first-come-first-served basis.  In-Person registration will be available the day of the event beginning at 6:30 am.

Walk or Run in your backyard, on your treadmill, in your living room, in your community or a park.  Take photos and share with us on Facebook and Instagram @rmhcep!   Official Walk/Run T-Shirts: T-shirts are guaranteed if registered by Sept 14, 2026.  T-shirts are NOT guaranteed for registrants between Sept 15 - Oct 3, 2026.   Download Official Race Bib: Virtual Participants- Provided within your Walk/Run for Kids email confirmation are instructions on how to download your digital bib. The instructions include a link that will redirect you to your digital bib which you can download and print.

DONATE SWAG ITEMS

Promote your organization by donating branded giveaway items for our Swag Bags. We make about 300 bags for our participants and would be happy to include anything you'd like to donate!  

RESERVE A VENDOR BOOTH

We have over 400 registered participants along with families and friends who attend our event annually. The number grows each year! Reserve your vendor booth today, for your small or large business for only $100.

Every payment or donation made for this event will go towards our fundraising goal. The last thing parents of critically ill children should have to worry about are shelter and food costs. Every effort helps those families remain close to their babies through some of the toughest times in their lives.
