Ruck 'N' Run VIRTUAL (5.56K Walk/Run)

(Same as basic race information) This event page is for the VIRTUAL Ruck 'N' Run only. If you want to compete in Republic, MO, please go here: RunSignUp.com/RuckNRun This virtual event is for those that can't make it to Republic, MO on Nov 5th. Grab your rucksack/backpack and throw in some canned goods and ruck it down the road for a great cause. Ruck ‘N’ Run brings together Veterans and Civilians in a fun, motivating yet challenging event to honor those who serve(d) in the U.S. Military while raising awareness and benefiting local Veteran organizations. Last year, Ruck 'N' Run raised $3,000 and 930 lbs of food for local Veteran organizations! With your help, we can double it this year! Raising Awareness & Benefiting These Local Veteran Organizations: 1. Camp Hope: A portion of the registration fees from the November 5, 2016 RNR event will be donated to Camp Hope, a 501(c)3 that provides a retreat for military Veterans wounded in the War on Terror. 2. Your local homeless Veteran shelter: Carry canned goods in their rucks during the event. At the end of the event, donate the canned goods will be unloaded from their rucks. ROUTE: You choose the 5.56K course and make sure to add in 5 stations along your route. [Check out the photos/posts on this page to you know where to stop and do the prescribed exercises.] Ruckers walk with their own rucksack/backpack. Runners do not have a rucksack/backpack. All participants (Ruckers 'N' Runners) must complete the prescribed exercise at each station before continuing. The stations are designed to be completed without the necessity of ruck removal. Participants may choose to remove their ruck to complete the station. However, the challenge is to keep the ruck on, as this adds weight to the exercise. Safety first. These exercises are done on the “honor system.” It is highly recommended that each participant practice these 5 exercises along a 5.56K route on their own time, prior to the event. Having a rucksack with a waist belt is better than having a regular school backpack. You can take your ruck off if needed but the challenge is in keeping it on. The wieght of your ruck is totally up to you. Stations: 1. Push ups 2. Jumping Jacks 3. Mountain Climbers 4. Body Weight Squats 5. Burpees There are 2 options to choose from; 10 reps OR 25 reps of the station exercises. Event shirts and Finisher's medal: Register before October 5, 2016 to guarantee you get an event t-shirt. Your shirt and medal will be mailed to the address you provide.
