About the Event
After completing his 48th XC season at Bloomington North and beginning his 48th track season, coach Charlie Warthan will be retiring from coaching. Coach Warthan started as head boys xc coach in the fall of 1978. Since that time, he has amassed some amazing stats.

Fittingly, we are having a 5k and banquet at the conclusion of his track season to celebrate this man's amazing career. We are calling for all former runners, coaches, parents, and administrators that have been a part of this journey to join us on June 7th to show our appreciation to coach. Note: This is a surprise for coach so please keep this quiet as we pull this all together.
Registration cost pays for your shirt and commemorative finisher medal. Donations will go toward getting the new xc course up and going so please help us out as you are able.
Join fellow runners on June 7, 2026 for the 5k Legacy Run. It's a fantastic 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Ellettsville.

There will be a separation between the 5k and the celebration to make the celebration more of a lunch and to let the 5k participants who aren't doing both clear out and celebration only people come in.
