About this race
Twenty-five years ago, our nation changed forever.
On September 11, 2001, two planes flew into the World Trade Center. As thousands fled, firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and ordinary Americans ran toward danger. They climbed floor after floor, carrying heavy gear, driven by a simple mission: help others.
Twenty-five years later, we gather in the city where it happened to honor their courage, remember those we lost, and ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten.
Join Team RWB at Citi Field on September 11, 2026, for the 9/11 Stair Climb.
Participants will climb 2,200 stairs—the approximate number of stairs first responders climbed while ascending the 110-story World Trade Center. For an added challenge, participants may complete the climb wearing a 40-pound ruck, representing the weight of the gear many firefighters carried that day.

The morning begins with an opening ceremony featuring guest speakers, the National Anthem, and a safety briefing before the climb officially starts. Throughout the event, we will pause for four moments of silence at the exact times that forever changed our nation: 8:46 AM – American Airlines Flight 11 strikes the North Tower 9:03 AM – United Airlines Flight 175 strikes the South Tower 9:37 AM – American Airlines Flight 77 strikes the Pentagon 10:03 AM – United Airlines Flight 93 crashes near Shanksville, Pennsylvania Event Schedule 8:00 AM: Gates Open 8:15 AM: Opening Ceremony 8:30 AM: Stair Climb Begins 8:46–10:03 AM: Memorial Moments of Silence Approximately 10:05 AM: Final Lap on the Warning Track 10:15 AM: Closing Remarks & Group Photo 10:25 AM: Event Concludes
