About this race
A Run Through the ‘Woods’ is fun neighborhood road race fundraiser for Hoover Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) in the Mt. Lebanon School District, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The run/walk takes place at the elementary school. The course goes through the scenic (and hilly) Cedarhurst Manor neighborhood of Mt. Lebanon hitting many of the ‘wood’ named streets. The event is competitive and fun for all ages and abilities. We offer a 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk, Live Age group awards as well as sponsor filled goodie bags, photographers and water on the course, custom finisher medals, fun raffle baskets, and snacks at the finish line! Medical staff, and a police officer will be on site for the safety of all participants.
Hoover Elementary PTA strives to enhance the school experience for all students. The purpose of this event is to raise money to support educational programs throughout the year. We thank you for your support!

5K Chip-Timed Run: Adult
Registrants for this event will run the 5K course WITH CHIP TIMING. Participants with CHIP timing will be eligible for overall and age group prizes. This is an annual fundraiser for Hoover Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) in the Mt. Lebanon School District in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The run walk will be held annually at the end of the school year and takes place through the Cedarhurst Manor area of Mt. Lebanon. Both a competitive chip-timed 5K run and a fun 5K run/walk are offered.
5K Chip-Timed Run: Kids 14 & Under
Registrants for this event must be aged 14 or younger AND run the 5K course WITH CHIP TIMING. Participants with CHIP timing will be eligible for overall and age group prizes.
Walking
1 Mile Walk / Fun Run
Registrants for this event EITHER walk the 1 mile course or may run the 5K course WITHOUT CHIP TIMING. This is an annual fundraiser for Hoover Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) in the Mt. Lebanon School District in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The run walk will be held annually at the end of the school year and takes place through the Cedarhurst Manor area of Mt. Lebanon.
