Anderson 5k Run/Walk

Join us for the third annual Anderson 5K Run/Walk! 

This event was created to raise money for the Kayla Anderson Scholarship Fund that provides scholarship awards to graduating Vandalia Butler High School seniors.

Sarah and Kayla Anderson, along with two other neighbors, were tragically and senselessly killed in their Butler Township homes on 8/5/22. This event rocked the entire community. Shortly after, support came in from all over the city and surrounding communities and the Kayla Anderson Scholarship Fund was created. The family hopes to see this scholarship fund bless many students for many years to come and also honor Sarah and Kayla’s lives, leaving a legacy of loving others well and living their lives to the fullest.

Run/Walk participants will receive water, a granola bar and a chance to win fun door prizes!!

Registration:

Now through September 16, 2026

• $30 - Adults (19 and older, includes shirt if registered by 9/16 at 11:59pm)
• $20 - Students (18 and younger, includes shirt if registered by 9/16 at 11:59pm)
• $20 - Shirt only (Pick up at race, No Mailing Option)

September 17th through September 25th

• $30 - for everyone (shirt not guaranteed) 

Race Day

• $35 - for everyone (shirt not guaranteed)

Schedule:

• 7:30am - Registration opens
• 8:45am - Registration closes
• 9am - 5K starts
• 10am - Awards
• 10:30am - Race timing stops and course closes

Parking and Location:

• Vandalia Rec Center, 1111 Stonequarry Rd Dayton, OH 45414. 
  Dogs are not permitted

Awards:

• Top OVERALL male and female runner
• Top males and females in the age groups 9 & under, 10-14, 15 – 19, 20 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, 60 and over.

Join fellow runners on September 26, 2026 for the Anderson 5k Run/Walk. It's a fantastic 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Dayton.
