Baby Steps Memorial Run

YOU MUST REGISTER BY 8/15/25 TO SUBMIT MEMORIAL NAMES FOR SHIRTS/SIGNS, GUARANTEE A RACE SHIRT.  We will not accept shirt sizes after this date!

If you are registering after this date and would like a shirt, you can check with our packet pickup committee AFTER the fun run begins and purchase a race shirt for $20 if any extras are available. There is NO GUARANTEE we will have extra shirts!

GUARANTEED Memorial name submission and shirt order deadlines: AUGUST 15, 2025 IS THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT MEMORIAL NAMES AND ORDER SHIRTS THIS YEAR! Due to planning the shirt design and printing, we cannot make any exceptions! All participants who pre-register online by our deadline specified each year (8/15/25) will have their loved ones name included on the race shirt design and any memorial pieces for the event.  Please be sure to double check your spelling before you submit your registration!  Memorial items may include a "WE REMEMBER THEM" sign to honor your loved one that is displayed throughout the course.  

PACKET PICKUP -

We cannot extend these times due to the hours of The Amelia Center.  *we encourage you to designate one person per team to pick up your race packets. If you are not on a team but have several people you can pick up for that's ok too!  Please text 205-305-5151 with your team name (or list of participants) and time you would like to pick up packets. Before you come, please make sure we have responded to confirm your packets will be ready. Any packets not picked up at The Amelia Center must be picked up on race day or they will be donated. We cannot hold or ship any race packets unless they are for our of state participants who pre-pay for shipping. Baby Steps Supporter, We are VERY excited to host our 17th memorial run/fundraiser at Homestead Hollow in Springville, AL. We had wonderful feedback on our new race location and LOVE partnering with the owners and staff there to make this the best memorial for you!      Over the past several years, the race helped fund an amazing renovation at The Amelia Center.  The Amelia Center has been providing services for over 25 years and this renovation was much needed to help provide grieving families with a comfortable environment as they navigate through loss.  We cannot wait to provide them support again to continue their amazing work! This year, funds raised will help The Amelia Center provide community training and guidance for those who have experienced trauma.  

 

RACE DAY INFORMATION

Saturday, September 13, 2024 at Homestead Hollow

*plan to arrive no later than 7:30!  We may need to block off the entrance at this time for everyone's safety

 

7am Same Day Registration and Packet Pickup 

8:00am 5K START

followed by the FUN RUN START

  We know sometimes you can't always make it to the event.  We will still honor your loved one on our race shirts!  Can't make it, participate virtually!  Get out with your family/friends and celebrate your loved one! Run, walk, ride, hike, eat - whatever you feel is best for your family!   

 

Post-Race: 
Awards will be given for the following: 

5K (chip timed) - 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in gender/age categories
FUN RUN - 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
TOP 3 ONLINE Fundraisers - be sure to set up your fundraiser page  
Largest team (pre-registered only)  
 

This race could not take place without the Baby Steps Race Committee, each participant, volunteers and business sponsors!  BIG SHOUT OUT to our committee for all of their hard work!!! We would also like to thank Homestead Hollow for allowing us to host the race on their beautiful property! We are excited to be there again and know you and your team will LOVE it! HEALTH GUIDELINES - PLEASE do not come to race day if you are ill.  We understand the importance of the event to everyone.  We want to keep you all safe and healthy. 

• Mask are welcome, but not required
• You must stay home if you show any symptoms of illness or you have tested positive for COVID within 5 days of the event
• You are required to wear a mask if you have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID within 10 days of the race
• We will have hand sanitizer at the race.  However, please help us by practicing basic health and hygiene practices like handwashing!
