About this race
Badger Challenge is a signature Wisconsin walking, running, and biking event which energizes the community around the mission of raising funds for cancer research and patient treatment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The UW research environment brings together scientists and clinicians from a wide variety of disciplines to help solve complex problems affecting patient care, and Badger Challenge accelerates the rate at which collaboration and discovery occurs.
Badger Challenge's overall mission is simple - to increase cure rates and reduce the burden of cancer for future generations. 100% of all participant raised funds will go to support this mission. Join us and help write the story that ends cancer.

Cycling
102-Mile Route
This scenic, day-long ride is the perfect challenge for cycling enthusiasts. You’ll experience a breadth of quintessentially Wisconsin settings, including farmsteads with grazing cattle, charming lake views, shady woodlands, and rolling fields. Beginning in Sun Prairie at 7 a.m., riders can seek respite at any one of a number of quaint stops as they travel through Marshall, Lake Mills, Deerfield, Cambridge, and Cottage Grove before returning to the Prairie Lakes Start/Finish area. **IMPORTANT: All 102-mile riders must reach the 63/102 mile split at Deerfield Rd and S Jargo road by 12:00 Noon. Any 102-mile riders not making the 12:00 Noon cut off will be routed to the 63-mile route. Cut-off is located between miles 48 and 49.
63-Mile Route
A day-long ride that is a perfect challenge for experienced riders and newer riders alike. You’ll experience a breadth of quintessentially Wisconsin settings, including farmsteads with grazing cattle, charming lake views, shady woodlands, and sprawling fields. The ride begins at Prairie Lakes at 9 a.m., then stops in Marshall, Lake Mills, Deerfield, and Cottage Grove before making its way back to Sun Prairie.
34-Mile Route
The mid-distance route – not too long and not too short. You’ll find plenty of picturesque farmsteads and lovely trees. This ride begins in Prairie Lakes at 10:00 a.m. and stops in Cottage Grove before returning to Sun Prairie.
17-Mile Route
A great starting point for less experienced and younger riders. You’ll see expansive fields, mature trees, barns, and white picket fences. The ride begins at Prairie Lakes at 11:00 a.m. and loops through scenic countrysides before making its way back to Sun Prairie.
3-Mile Route
Perfect for pedalers of all ages. The ride begins at Prairie Lakes at 1:30 p.m. and travels through the Fox Point and Weybridge neighborhoods of Sun Prairie before winding its way back to the starting point.
