Mark your calendars for October 24, 2026, and get ready to race at the Berkeley Marina! Registration is open until and on race day.
PACKET PICK-UP:
Packet pick-up will tentatively be on Friday, October 23th, from 2pm - 6pm at Berkeley Sports Basement (2727 Milvia St.).
Race morning pick-up is also available starting at 6am.
Packet pickup for friends and family is available - please just have a copy or photo of their ID
GENERAL INFO:
Transition opens at 6:00am for Draft Legal, at 6:45 for Classic and Relay Racers, and at 10:00am for Mixed Team Relays, with 30 minutes of swim warm-up available. The complete race schedule can be found on our website.
Transition closes at 6:45am for DL, at 9:00am for Classic and Relay Racers, and at 11:45 for Mixed Team Relays.
Please note that all timing is subject to change; any and all changes will be communicated explicitly.
If you are racing draft legal, no aero or TT bikes allowed, only road bikes. Please remove any aero bars. This race is meant for more advanced racers, so if you would like to transfer your registration, feel free to send us an email!
On all bikes: NO mirrors or glass of any kind are allowed
Draft-legal rules apply for the Mixed Team Relay, so no TT bikes allowed. The lap-out rule won't be enforced, so if you get lapped, you can still finish.
There will be a coaches/captains meeting at 6:45 AM before the Draft Legal race to cover rules and sportsmanship.
Water temperature is expected to be around 60°F, so we recommend wearing wetsuits. USAT wetsuit guidelines are found here.
This year, we're excited to host four races:
🏊♂️ Draft-Legal Sprint: 750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run
🚴♀️ Classic Sprint (Collegiate and Age Group): non-draft legal, 750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run
🏃♂️ Classic Relay (Collegiate and Age Group): team of three with each person racing one leg each (750m swim, 20k bike, or 5k run)
🔥 Mixed Team Relay (Collegiate and Age Group): team of four with each person racing a super sprint triathlon (250m swim, 5k bike, 1k run)
Bearathlon 2026 is designed for athletes of all levels, from beginners to elite competitors. With Open Age Group and Collegiate divisions, there’s a spot for everyone. Whether you're racing solo or as part of a team, you won’t want to miss this thrilling event! Collegiate Classic Sprint
This event is non draft legal. If you are a collegiate athlete affiliated with USA Triathlon WCCTC, please enter your team name when you register. If you are not affiliated please select "other" or "open" when you register. 750m swim 20k bike (4 laps) 5k run (2 laps)
Classic Sprint Relay
Team of three! Each person will race one leg of a classic triathlon 1 person will swim 750m 1 person will bike 20km 1 person will run 5km
Mixed Team Relay
Team of four, with each person racing a super sprint triathlon, so each person does a: 250m swim, 5km bike, 1km run
Age Group Classic Sprint
