About this race
Come join us at Chiawana Park in Pasco, Washington for the 3rd Annual Big River Race
Saturday, May 30th, 2026 for a Half Marathon, 10k, 5k & FREE Fun 1 Mile. Run along one of Eastern Washington's biggest landmarks, the Columbia River. Enjoy a scenic route on paved riverfront trail. This race offers you four different options; a distance for everyone in the family, group of friends or coworkers.
The course will be flat & fast! Perfect for your first time to achieve one of these distances or set a new personal goal. The race will start & end at the west end of the park. All race distances are on a paved path and along the riverfront. Chiawana is a Native word for “Big River”
The Columbia River has provided this region's culture and economy for thousands of years. It is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest. The river forms in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia, Canada and flows through Washington. This Big River irrigates more than 6,000,000 acres of agricultural land. Agriculture is huge part of our community and is possible because of this valuable water source.
The race course will have fun, themed aid-stations, cheer squads & music along the way. You run the miles, we bring the entertainment and support! We believe your achievements should be celebrated. Invite all the friends and family to come watch you cross the finish line! Chiawana Park as beautiful shade trees, a big grassy park and a gorgeous view of the river. After the race sit, relax, enjoy some post race treats and listen to a live band!!

Half Marathon(over 3hrs) early start
If you're planning to take LONGER that 3hrs to complete the half marathon, sign up for the early start! you will need to bring water for the first 1.5hrs until aid-stations are open. -The half marathon will be an out & back route going east on a paved river front path. There will be total of 6 aid-stations. Approximately 2 miles a part (1.55/11.5, 3.10/9.80, 5/7) with water, electrolyte drink, gels and fruit snacks. These stations will have fun theme to keep you motivated and have fun while running. Price includes a shirt!
Big River Half Marathon
The half marathon will be an out & back route going east on a paved river front path. There will be total of 6 aid-stations. Approximately 2 miles a part (1.55/11.5, 3.10/9.80, 5/7) with water, electrolyte drink, gels and fruit snacks. These stations will have fun theme to keep you motivated and have fun while running. Price includes a shirt! 8am start will be 3hrs and under finish time. If it will take you longer than 3hrs; you can do the 7am early start. Each finisher will receive a custom medal. strollers are a welcome; you will start in the back righthand side.
Big River 10k
-The 10k will be an out & back route going east on the trail. There will be 3 aid-stations. Miles 1.55/4.55, 3.10 (turn around) with water, electrolyte drink, gels and fruit snacks. Each finisher will receive a custom medal **strollers are welcome! you will start in the back righthand side.
Big River 5k
-The 5k will be an out & back route going east on the trail. There will be 1 aid-station(turn around mile 1.55) with water, & electrolyte drink. Each finisher will receive a custom medal **strollers are welcome! you will start in the back righthand side.
Big River FREE 1 mile
-The fun 1 mile will be an out & back going west to the end of the park. 1 water station at the turn around 0.5 mile Walkers, families, strollers, wagons, big groups of friends comes out and enjoy being active together! each finisher will receive a medal. this is a fun run and will not be timed
