The Black Squirrel Scurry is a triathlon that features a 2 mile paddle down the Prairie River, a 17.5 mile bike ride featuring the River Bend Trail out to the countryside of Lincoln County, and a 5K trail run through the Merrill Area Rec Complex and Council Grounds State Park. Park at the MARC and catch a shuttle bus to Prairie River Park. RACE FEES: (Fees will rise July, 1)
$70 Solo Ages 20 and Older. ($80 after 7/1) $45 Solo 19U $140 Tandem and Relay Teams Ages 20 and Older. ($160 after 7/1) $70 Tandem and Relay Teams 19U ($80 after 7/1)
Returning Champions and those requesting a seeded starting time need to have request sent to race director by July 15, 2022 for consideration.

Awards & Raffle Prizes to follow at Cenotaph Park 1:00 PMAWARDS: Top 3 in each Division. Over-all plaque to top Solo Male, Solo Female.
BENEFICIARIES: Northwoods Veterans Post and Friends of the River Bend Trail WEATHER POLICY: If in the event of severe or threatening weather, course workers will communicate conditions and, by decision of the Merrill Fire Dept., may communicate to participants to immediately stop to seek shelter. If in the event heat indices begin to enter unhealthy zones, participants will be informed at transition stations. If a participant feels, at any time, that conditions are not safe to continue, please communicate to a course worker your status. The course may be shut down if heat indices enter a dangerous zone and all participants will be asked to stop. Triathlon Solo Participant
Over-all male and female champions earn free registration for the following year's race.
19U Triathlon Solo (Ages 19 and under)
Triathlon Relay Team (Male, Female or Mixed)
2 or 3 participants for each relay team. If one member is 10 or under, a "tag-along" may be used on the bike portion. Only 1 person/bike, 1 person/craft.
Triathlon Tandem Team (Male, Female or Mixed)
Participants start in same craft together. Participants have the option to ride a tandem bike or each ride a bike and then each runs for combined time. If one member is 10 or under, a "tag-along" may be used on the bike portion.
19U Triathlon Relay Team (Ages 19 and under)
2 or 3 participants for each relay team. If one member is 10 or under, a "tag-along" may be used on the bike portion. Only 1 person/bike, 1 person/craft. All participants must be 19 or under.
19U Triathlon Tandem Team (Ages 19 and under)

eBike Triathlon Solo Division (No Throttle)
eBikers will be placed in one division and are not eligible for the Over-all Champion prize.
eBike Triathlon Relay Division (No Throttle)
Relays can be composed of 2 or 3 people. This is an experimental divisions and not have divisions separated by gender. Only 1 person/bike, 1 person/craft. eBike relays are not eligible for the Over-all champion relay team.
