BOO! Brain Cancer 5K and Bike Challenge

Join us for our 4th annual BOO! Brain Cancer Bike Challenge and 5K, and help us raise funds for pediatric brain cancer research and patient support! 

Brain cancer is now the leading cause of death by disease in children and Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) accounts for approximately 50% of those deaths. There is no cure for DIPG and the majority of kids will survive 9-11 months following diagnosis. No child deserves to be given a death sentence. Help us raise awareness and change these scary statistics.

The Boo! Brain Cancer Challenge has several participation options. We are continuing the virtual bike challenge for 2026, in which participants choose to complete 25 or 200 miles during the month of October. We also have a virtual 5K walk/run challenge. We encourage you to track your miles on our race page and post pictures in our Facebook group! 

Register by September 30th to receive a challenge medal!

How do I sign up?

1. Visit https://runsignup.com/boobraincancer
2. Enter the registration details for yourself and any members of your family who are completing a challenge with you
3. You can create a team or ride as an individual. If you want to join a team but don’t know anyone else participating, join Team Princess Hailey!
4. Choose the bike challenge or 5K event(s) you would like to complete during October
5. Sign up to become a fundraiser and share! This part is completely optional, but the more funds raised = the more research and support funds are available to help the next child diagnosed.
6. As you compete in your challenge, send your photos to princesshaileyshope@gmail.com, and we will post them on social media! You can also tag us @princesshaileyshopefoundation and use the hashtag #boobraincancer.

Proceeds from this race benefit Princess Hailey's Hope Foundation, a childhood brain cancer charity formed in memory of Hailey Acevedo, who bravely battled DIPG for 17 months. Our mission is to raise funds for childhood brain cancer research, with an emphasis on DIPG, and to support children who are battling the disease. We provide support by sending personally curated care packages, called Hugs from Hailey, to children in the fight; we also help patient families with the cost of travel to clinical trials and expanded access treatment centers.
