About this race
The sun is rising on Friday morning, January 1st, the first day of 2027. Where should you be? Pounding the trails of Lake Chabot, of course!
Join us at Lake Chabot in Castro Valley for the scenic and invigorating 5K, 10K or half marathon.

5K
The 5K is entirely on paved trails. The 5K and 10K will essentially be out and back courses, while the half marathon will basically be a loop. All courses include rolling hills that are mostly runnable.
10K
The 10K is about 50% paved trails and 50% dirt trails. The 5K and 10K will essentially be out and back courses, while the half marathon will basically be a loop. All courses include rolling hills that are mostly runnable.
HALF MARATHON
The half marathon is approximately 30% paved trails and 70% dirt trails. The 5K and 10K will essentially be out and back courses, while the half marathon will basically be a loop. All courses include rolling hills that are mostly runnable. The half marathon will start at 8:30 am and the course will have a time limit of 4.5 hours. All half marathoners must reach the aid station at mile 10.7 by 11:45 am.
