Triathlon
Sprint Triathlon (Sunday)
500 meter swim in the beautiful and clean Magnolia Hill Ranch Lake 9-10 mile bike (Equivalent to about 12-15 on the road) 3 mile run following mostly jeep trails around the lake The swim will have a beach start with plenty of room to spread out. You will then proceed to the 9 mile (2 lap) bike course. The bike course is easy my off-road standards. A gravel bike (with a little wider tires) is the best option but many have raced on their mountain, hybrid, or CX bikes. The bike course is mostly jeep roads with a few easy single track sections thrown in for good measure. The run has several memorable hills that I am sure you will be talking about after you finish.
Triathlon Sprint Relay (Sunday)
500 meter swim (teammate 1) 8-9 mile bike (Equivalent to about 12-15 on the road) (teammate 2) 3 mile run (teammate 3) * Want to save some money? Volunteer to work water station (right outside transition) when you are not on your leg of the race. Email us for a half off code good for each athlete on your team.
3-Hour Triathlon (Sunday)
Swim- 900 meters (Bike- 5 miles, run 2 miles) Repeat the bike and run combination until 3 hours is up First, athletes will start with a 900 meter (2-loop) swim in the pristine Magnolia Hill Lake. Next athletes will ride 5 miles on jeep/single track trails around the property and then run 2 miles around the lake. Athletes will continue to repeat the bike and run until the 3 hours is up. After 3 hours the athletes will finish the lap they are on and proceed to this finish line at the end of the 2-mile run. • You don’t need to worry about being out on the course alone, everyone will be out on the course until the 3rd hour. • Your place is determined first by how many laps you record then finishing time. * Lap 1 is Swim, bike run, * Lap 2 is bike, run * Lap 3 is bike, run and so on • Example 1: athlete A finishes 4 laps in 3:05 and athlete B finishes 5 laps in 3:30. Athlete B would win because they have more laps. • Example 2: Athlete C finishes 5 laps in 3:15 and Athlete D 5 laps in 3:10. Athlete D wins because they finished the same number of laps as C but faster. *Last years 5-hour video covering how the race works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZM-hodoGDGA • Super spectator friendly course.
