3 days agoViolated USAT rules.
I’ve done this race many times, but I think it’s been taken over by some organization called “Green Whales”? First off they violated USAT rules regarding wetsuit usage. USAT allows wetsuit usage if the water temperature is 78 or lower. The water temp was around 68 degrees. When I asked about wetsuits I was told: “We don’t do wetsuits.” The swim which is in a canal used to be mostly with the incoming morning tide, but this year, they reversed the course so you’re swimming against the current for most of the swim. Seems pretty foolish.
