About this race
Scootathon is an athletic event for grades 5 and younger, on "The Mini Loop" in the Nethermead of Prospect Park, directly following May Fair, on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. "The Big Loop' has been retired but May Fair, in the morning, continues as an all student / ALL COMMUNITY event. Hoopathon is a new and exciting companion fundraiser just for middle schoolers, a basketball sleep-over event taking place on April 24-25 at Brooklyn Waldorf School. Sign up to ride The Big Loop at Prospect Park for the 16th Annual BWS Scootathon! PLEASE NOTE: Children do not need to register to participate. Need to borrow a scooter for your ride? We can arrange that! Email scootathon@brooklynwaldorf.org with "borrow a scooter" in the subject line. Not all private schools in NYC have the same resources; over 60% of our families receive financial aid, and tuition revenue only covers 70% of our operating expenses. We depend on fundraising to help us cover those costs. Your fundraising ride is very meaningful!
