About this race
Take a magical journey through a life-sized Candy Land! Walk, hike, or run as you relive one of your favorite childhood games as a real-life adventure. Enjoy some of Tri-Cities' local trails, visit the candy-themed stations for a variety of treats, and meet special Candy Land characters.
This event is a fundraiser for Mirror Ministries. All proceeds and entry fees will go directly to support Mirror Ministries, an organization of people who embrace a vision of hope for victims and survivors of sex trafficking. We work toward this vision knowing God’s grace is reflected in each one of us as we pray, serve, and give to show survivors their true worth.

Walk - Run - Hike - Ruck Details:
This sweet adventure will start and end in the parking lot of Candy Mountain in Richland, WA. We offer three different routes depending on your ability and how long you want to stay in Candy Land. All routes will be on trails. You will be given a fun map for each route, and the stations will be marked on it. The longer you participate, the more treats you get! Service animals only; must be leashed at all times Each finisher will get a wooden finisher medal. Awards will be given to the Top Overall male and female (1st, 2nd, 3rd place) in the 3.5 mile and 10k distance. RUCK finishers will get a special ruck patch. Age group awards male & female will be given out to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in the 10k & 3.5 mile.Groups will be: 3-5, 6-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89 10k & 3.5 mile will be chip-timed by Eastern Oregon Sports Timing. 1.25 is not time and is just for fun!

Parking:
NEW FOR 2025 Parking will be at Bethel Church- 600 Shockley Rd, Richland, WA 99352
There will be a shuttle bus every 15 minutes to and from Candy Mountain starting at 8:00 a.m. Plan ahead for extra time with parking, unloading, and reloading. Make sure race bib is visible for volunteers to see as you are loading buses. If riding the shuttle to pick up your bib on race day morning, let the volunteers and/or drivers know. The will be buses ready to take you back to the parking lot once the first race is over.NO PARKING ON THE ROADWAY CLOSE TO THE CANDY MOUNTAIN PARKING LOT OR IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS.

Bib Pick-up and In-person Registration:
Thursday, October 30th from 2-6 p.m. at Runners Soul 5020 W Clearwater Ave, Kennewick, WA 99336
Saturday, November 1st from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Candy Mountain parking lot. *if there are registration spots available*
Join fellow runners on November 4, 2023 for the Candy Land Run. It's a fantastic 2K, 5.6K, 10K featuring a flat and fast course in Richland.

Running
Gumdrop Loop
This route is for great for kids and those just out for a fun walk with treats! 1.25 miles with 92ft elevation gain. An out & back loop - Start time 9:00 a.m. This route will be short and sweet—perfect for kids and families! The Gingerbread Tree will be your first station for your gingerbread treat. Then pass through Peppermint Forest to get your candy cane from Mr. Mint. At the halfway mark, you will take a left on Gumdrop Pass. Be on the lookout for Jolly. His gumdrops will help you make it to the finish line at the famous Candy Castle. King Candy will be welcoming you back from the land of sweets! This route will be mark and volunteers to help you along the way! you will be given a route map also.
Chocolate Route
This route is great for older kids, hikers, and trail runners 3.5 miles with 545ft elevation gain. To the top of the mountain and back down. Start time 8:45 a.m. Up for an adventure to the top of Candy Mountain? The Gingerbread Tree will be your first station for your gingerbread treat. Then pass through Peppermint Forest to get your candy cane from Mr. Mint. Continue on Rainbow trail to the top of the mountain. Next stop will be Peanut Acres to meet Gramma Nutt for your nutty treat. Enjoy the colorful Lollipop Woods and get your sucker from Lolly. Once at the top, don’t get stuck in the Chocolate Swamp! Gloppy will be there to reward your efforts with some delicious chocolate. Then make your way back down. You will take the same route back down, passing by all the treats again. Be on the lookout for Jolly—his gumdrops will help you make it to the finish line at the famous Candy Castle! King Candy will be welcoming you back from the land of sweets. The route will be marked, and you will be given a course map. This event will be timed by Delta Endurance.
Licorice Trail
This route is great for more experienced trail runners and hikers. 10k (6.2 miles) with 1,263ft elevation gain. Start time 8:30 a.m. You need to keep an average pace of 25 min/mile for an 11 a.m. finish time. If you’re up for an extra challenge, this route includes the special Licorice Trail! The Gingerbread Tree will be your first station for your gingerbread treat. Then pass through Peppermint Forest to get your candy cane from Mr. Mint. Continue on Rainbow Trail to the top of the mountain. Next stop will be Peanut Acres to meet Gramma Nutt for your nutty treat. Enjoy the colorful Lollipop Woods and get your sucker from Lolly. Once at the top, don’t get stuck in the Chocolate Swamp! Gloppy will be there to reward your efforts with some delicious chocolate. You'll then head down the backside of Candy Mountain. Be on the lookout for Princess Frostine at Frozen Lake with your frosty drink of water or electrolyte. Then on to find Licorice Trail and meet Lord Licorice. He'll turn you around and back up the mountain with a piece (or two) of licorice. You will return on the same route and pass by all the candy stations again. Be on the lookout for Jolly—his gumdrops will help you make it to the finish line at the famous Candy Castle! The route will be marked with red flags and you will be given a course map. This event will be timed by Delta Endurance. You may want to bring hiking poles for the backside of Candy Mountain (rocky/steep side) and a small section of single track out and back (the secret Licorice Trail). There will be a course lead and sweep. For locals: the turnaround is 0.25 north of the culvert.
