Capital City Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, October 24, 2026
Footprints of Michigan is proud to bring you the Capital City Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), is a celebration of life and death of all ages. While the holiday originated in Mexico, it is celebrated all over Latin America and the US. Come dressed up and ready to celebrate tradition, community, and diversity.
Participants are encouraged to wear traditional Dia de los Muertos face paint, flowers and other attire. FAMILY FUN EVENT!
Location: Granger Meadows Park
Cost 5k: Pre-registration before October 16th (all ages) $40.00 - includes Dia de los Muertos t-shirt. After pre-registration date $45.00 (all ages), t-shirt as supplies last Not guaranteed a T shirt.
Carrera de Los Niños (Kids Run): $10 Registration after pre registration Kids will receive medal, bib , and goodie bag. (300 yards)
Awards: All participants (excludes kids run) will receive a beautiful Dia de Los Muertos finisher medal and T- Shirt
Packet pick up: Will be at Footprints of Michigan Office at 3010 W. Saint Joseph St. Lansing, MI 48917 from 4PM to 6PM ON FRIDAY 23rd.
Race will start at 10:00 am for runners. 11:00 am for walkers/rollers
The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be live during the race and on this website.
