Chazy Running Club 5k/1 Mile

Chazy Running Club Race Day!

***For Chazy School Running Club kids only!***

To celebrate the kids' big accomplishments in the program we are hosting a 5K race on May 28th!

This will be a rain or shine event! Steve Peters, owner of Adirondack Coast Sports has graciously donated his time and equipment to host this official event for our running club at the Rec Park.  All students will be excused with coaches at 2:30 pm from school.  We will walk from the school to the Rec Park with all of our belongings. At the Rec Park we will get all geared up with our bibs for the race. A family member may run alongside their runner, but bibs will only be for our running club runners.  If you choose to run with your runner please wear a neon shirt.  We are modeling and promoting safety for our student runners.  Family, friends, and community members are welcome to come cheer on our runners at the rec park.  Reminder please do not park in the cemetery for this event. 

There will be two choices for the race.  Your child can run a little over a 1 mile race which goes around the pond then back to the rec park or there is a 5k race which will take your child to Church Street to Miner Farm then to Stetson back to North Farm Road.  Please make sure to choose the race that is appropriate for your child to participate in. Donations are being accepted (but not required) during online registration and all funds will go to support the continuation of this running program!

Students will be signed out as usual from the race at the rec park instead of the school. 

Schedule:

2:30pm- Students leave campus to walk to Rec Park 

3:10pm- Opening Statement

3:30pm- Race Begins 

4:15 pm/ 4:30 pm- awards and dismissal
