Ready to get active, improve your health, and have fun with your colleagues?

The 2026 P&WC Run/Walk Clinic begins August 17 and runs through October 24, culminating in our annual Graduation 5K at P&WC Plant 1.

Whether you're a walker, a beginner runner, or an experienced athlete looking for extra motivation, this 10-week clinic is designed to help you build healthy habits, gain confidence, and achieve your personal goals in a supportive and welcoming environment.

❗ No Fundraising Required to Participate
Participation in the Run/Walk Clinic is completely free and does not require participation in the Montreal Marathon or the MUHC fundraising program.

Whether your goal is to:

Become more active
Improve your fitness
Complete your first 5K
Return to exercise after a break
Meet new colleagues
Train for a personal race goal
You are welcome to join.

The Montreal Marathon and MUHC fundraising opportunities described below are entirely optional.

 
🌟 New This Year: Train for the Montreal Marathon and Support a Great Cause


For employees looking for an additional challenge, this year's clinic can also serve as a training program for the Montreal Marathon Weekend.

In partnership with P&WC Run for the Funds Committee, interested employees will have the opportunity to participate in the Montreal Marathon while supporting the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Foundation.

Funds raised help support:

Patient care
Medical research
Innovation in healthcare
Healthcare services throughout our community
Participation in the marathon and fundraising program is completely optional.

🎓 Graduation 5K – October 24, 2026


The clinic concludes with our annual Graduation 5K at P&WC Plant 1.

Whether you walked, jogged, or ran throughout the clinic, this event is an opportunity to celebrate your accomplishments alongside your fellow participants.

🏅 Every finisher will receive a custom finisher medal to commemorate their achievement.

(Registration details for the Graduation 5K will be shared closer to the event.)

✨ Motivation Mondays
Virtual Session Every Monday | 12:15 PM – 12:45 PM
Kick off your week with practical tips, education, and motivation.

Topics include:

Running and walking fundamentals
Footwear and gear
Hydration and nutrition
Injury prevention
Training strategies
Race preparation
Staying motivated
Please note: Motivation Mondays are educational sessions and not workout sessions.

 
👟 In-Person Walk/Run Sessions
Throughout the clinic, we'll organize optional in-person walk/run meetups from Plant 1 whenever possible.

These sessions provide opportunities to:

Train with colleagues
Build accountability
Learn from experienced participants
Have fun while staying active
Session details will be communicated through the clinic Teams channel and weekly emails.

👟 Walker Group
Perfect for individuals who are just getting started or returning to activity.

We'll gradually build endurance, confidence, and walking pace through structured progression.

🏃 Beginning Runner A
Designed for those who are new to running.

We'll help you safely progress from walk/run intervals to completing a full 5K.

🏃‍♂️ Beginning Runner B
Already able to run for a few minutes at a time?

We'll build your endurance and confidence toward a successful 5K finish.

💨 Intermediate Runner
Comfortable with a 5K but still taking occasional walk breaks?

This group focuses on improving consistency, endurance, and overall fitness.

🔥 Advanced Runner
For experienced runners looking to improve performance, increase mileage, prepare for longer races, or train for the Montreal Marathon.

 
🌟 Interested in Volunteering as a Clinic Leader?
We're always looking for enthusiastic leaders to help support participants.

Clinic leaders may:

Lead virtual discussions
Organize walk/run sessions
Encourage participants
Help create a positive clinic experience
No coaching certification is required—just a passion for helping others succeed.
