Daniel Barden Mudfest 5 Mile, 5k & Kids Mud Run
About the Event
The Daniel Barden Mudfest was created in memory of Daniel Barden, one of the first-grade students whose life was taken during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in December 2012.
The event was founded by family members whose niece was inside the school that day. While she escaped unharmed, she lost her dear friend Daniel. In the face of unimaginable loss, Mudfest was born as a way to honor Daniel’s life and carry forward the values he embodied.
Daniel is remembered as a kind and gentle child who treated everyone with respect and joy. He had a zest for life and loved the outdoors, sports, and getting muddy. Those simple joys are at the heart of Mudfest.

This course is designed to follow the beginning of the 5K and will break off to more steep hills & more obstacles. It is very challenging!
TIMED 5k-ONE HEAT ONLY 8:30- *Note: New Start Time*
Lots of hills & challenging obstacles in lots of mud if it's a rainy season! For those that like to be recognized for their time-this is the 5k for you!
