Dori Bee Teal 5K
About this race
Join us for the inaugural Dori Bee Teal Run 5K on Saturday, February 27, 2027, at 8:00 AM at Washington-Marion High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Held in memory of Doris “Dori Bee” Blanchard, this family-friendly community event is presented by the Dori Bee Scholarship Foundation. The race brings our community together to promote health, physical activity, brain aneurysm awareness, stroke prevention, neurological health, and educational opportunity.
Proceeds from the event will support the Dori Bee Scholarship Foundation’s mission to provide scholarships, mentoring, leadership development, and educational opportunities for deserving students pursuing higher education.
Whether you are an experienced runner, casual walker, student, family member, virtual participant, or community supporter, we invite you to join us and help make a difference — one step at a time.

Registered participants in the in-person events will receive a race shirt. Shirt sizes are guaranteed for participants registered by February 5, 2027. Registrations after that date are welcome, but selected shirt sizes are not guaranteed.
A Virtual 5K Run/Walk option is also available for supporters who want to participate from anywhere. Virtual registration does not include a race shirt, but virtual participants may purchase a race shirt with shipping as an optional add-on during registration. No local pickup option is available for virtual participants.

1 Mile Memorial Walk
The 1-Mile Memorial Walk is a family-friendly option for participants who want to honor Doris “Dori Bee” Blanchard, support the Dori Bee Scholarship Foundation, and be part of the event without completing the full 5K. This walk is open to all ages and fitness levels. Families, students, community members, and supporters are encouraged to participate together as we walk in remembrance, love, and purpose. Proceeds from this event support scholarships, mentoring, leadership development, and educational opportunities through the Dori Bee Scholarship Foundation. Participants are encouraged to wear teal. Kids Run
The Kids Fun Run is a short, fun, and encouraging race designed for children to participate in the Dori Bee Teal Run 5K event. This event gives kids an opportunity to run, smile, celebrate, and be part of a meaningful community day honoring Doris “Dori Bee” Blanchard. Parents and family members are welcome to cheer along the course and celebrate each child at the finish. The Kids Fun Run supports the mission of the Dori Bee Scholarship Foundation by encouraging young people, families, and the community to come together for education, wellness, remembrance, and purpose. Participants are encouraged to wear teal. Run with Heart. Finish with Love.
Virtual 5K Run/Walk
The Virtual 5K Run/Walk is for participants who want to support the Dori Bee Teal 5K from anywhere. Virtual participants may complete their 5K on their own time, in their own community, between February 27, 2027 and March 31, 2027. You can run, walk, or complete the distance in honor of Doris “Dori Bee” Blanchard while supporting the Dori Bee Scholarship Foundation. Virtual registration does not include a race shirt. Virtual participants may purchase a race shirt with shipping as an optional add-on during registration. No local pickup option is available for virtual participants. Run with Heart. Finish with Love.
