Downingtown Good Neighbor Day - Firetrucks and Fireworks
About this race
Downingtown Good Neighbor Day benefits the Fire and rescue squads within the Downingtown Area School District. Good Neighbor Day is an all-day event that starts with the Run for Life 5K, 10K, 15K or 5K Freedom Walk. Approximately 2,000 athletes participate each year. Throughout the day you can enjoy fabulous food, visit 80-100 craft exhibitors or simply enjoy one of the many activities scheduled for the day. The day is capped off with a Fireworks Grand Finale that starts at dusk.
Proceeds benefit the following emergency providers: Alert Fire Company - Minquas Fire and EMS - Uwchlan Ambulance - East Brandywine Fire Company - Lionville Fire Company - Glenmoore Fire Company - West Bradford Fire Company
RUN FOR LIFE 5K, 10K, 15K
$100 to top male and female runners
GND T-shirts for all registered runners.
Commemorative 250th Medal for ALL runners!
Medals for 1st three male and female finishers in each category
Runner's Bibs and GND T-shirt Pick-up at the Gazebo in Kerr Park - July 3rd from 10 AM till 7 PM, July 4th from 6:00 AM till 7:50 AM

Cornhole Madness
Grab your teammate and come on out for a cornhole tournament. Spend your 4th of July afternoon competing for cash prizes in a great local gathering. The contest is limited to 32 teams (each team is 2-person). The cost for entry is $50 per team.
GND Kids' K
Kids! Put on your running shoes and come on down to Kerr Park for you very own race! The GND Kid's K is a 1 Kilometer Fun Run/Walk for kids 12 and under. To keep things fair, our competitors will be separated by age. The youngest kids go first, followed by the older ages. All competitors will receive a medal and t-shirt.

This is a fun walk. Families are welcome and strollers are great!
Paddle sports
Krapf’s Canoe/Kayak Brandywine River Challenge
After the run, paddle down the Brandywine to Stroud Preserve! The course is a 7-mile scenic route through Chester County. Be sure to bring sunscreen and plenty of hydration! Krapf's are providing a bus back to Downingtown...hence the name!
Cycling
Big Wheel Race (KID ONLY EVENT)
Bring your Big Wheel, Tricycle, Green Machine and/or Kiddie Car of any design and race down the gentle slope of the Pennsylvania Avenue Brandywine Bridge (about 100 yards). Kids from 2 to 10 will race for 4th of July Glory in this Good Neighbor Day Classic!
Handel's Ice Cream Bike Decorating Contest (KID ONLY EVENT)
Decorate your favorite ride with all the red, white and blue stuff you can find! Kid's from infants (Parent Assist) to 14 can design and decorate their coach...our distinguished panel of judges will deliberate WHO HAS THE BEST DECORATED RIDE!?!
