Push your limits at the East Fork Challenge—an adventure race that blends strategy, endurance, and just the right amount of grit.
Set in East Fork State Park, this race sends you across rugged trails, fast gravel, and open water as you trek, bike, and paddle your way to as many checkpoints as possible before time runs out. You’ll choose your own route, manage your pace, and decide how hard to push—it’s as much a mental game as it is physical.
Whether you’re chasing the podium or trying your first race, the East Fork Challenge is designed to be competitive and approachable. New racers are welcome, but don’t be fooled—there’s plenty here to test even experienced teams.
How It Works
- Race solo or with a team
- Choose a 6-hour or 12-hour course
- Navigate using a map and compass (no marked course) to find checkpoints
- Earn points for each checkpoint you reach
- Finish before the cutoff to avoid penalties

Go longer. Race smarter. See what you’re capable of. The 12-hour race is the full East Fork Challenge experience—built for those ready to push their limits. With more time comes more opportunity—and more strategy. You’ll cover more ground, make bigger route decisions, and manage your effort across a full day of racing. This is where preparation, teamwork, and resilience make the difference. If you’re an experienced racer—or want the most complete and rewarding version of the course—this is the race to choose. USARA Sanctioned Event This race is part of the United States Adventure Racing Association calendar, following standard rules and offering a professionally run, competitive experience. Racers are required to be USARA members or purchase a single day membership ($8) during registration.
6 Hour Race
Fast. Focused. A great place to start. The 6-hour race is the perfect entry into adventure racing—or a quick, high-tempo challenge for experienced racers. You’ll trek, bike, and paddle through East Fork State Park, navigating to as many checkpoints as possible before time runs out. With a shorter window, success comes down to smart route choices and steady movement. New racers will find this format approachable and fun. Experienced racers are welcome—but if you’re looking for the full challenge, consider stepping up to the 12-hour race.
