About this race

Walk or Run 250 Miles to Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday!

Ewing Township — it’s time to lace up and get moving! Mayor Bert Steinmann, the Ewing Health Department and Recreation Department, Ewing Seniors, Recreation Advisory Board, and the Ewing Green Team invite you to join their 250 for 250 Challenge, a virtual walk/run wellness adventure celebrating 250 years of the greatest nation on Earth!

Starting January 1, 2026 —  we’re challenging YOU to walk or run 250 miles - anytime, anywhere - by December 31, 2026. That gives you plenty of time to celebrate America’s Semi quincentennial in the most energizing way possible!

Whether you hit the canal path, the parks, the treadmill, or your own neighborhood sidewalk — every mile counts! Get healthy, stay active, and show your American pride all at once.

Participation is FREE!

You can submit your Virtual Results on the RunSignUp page anytime between January 1 through December 31, 2026.

Rules and Regulations
  • Participants must complete all 250 miles between January 1 and December 31, 2026.

  • All mileage must be added virtually on RunSignUp.

How to Sign Up

  • Click on the Sign Up button on the Race website 

  • Fill out the registration form.

  • When you are creating a new RunSignup account you will need to provide your email address and create a password.  

  • The password requirements include an 8 character minimum and it must include two of of the following: 1 upper case letter, 1 lower case letter, 1 number, and 1 special character.  Be sure to save your password so that you can get back in to your account.

  • Choose your event (Ewing 250's Virtual Challenge should appear by default.

  • Click Continue.

  • Agree to the waiver by checking the box underneath the Waiver agreement and click continue.

  • Choose to receive emails for your event or decline to receive them.

  • Then select your time zone and click Continue

  • Click Complete registration. The screen will display a summary of your information including your login name, DOB, email, and Event.  

  • Note that a Purchase Summary appears on the right side of the screen.  This will be zeroed out as this is a free event. 

How to Submit Virtual Results

Method 1: Submit from RunSignUp Race Results Page
  • Login on the race's RunSignUp race page 

  • Select the Result tab > then select Submit Virtual Results.

  • Next search for your registration either by first and last name or by email address and DOB.

  • Once you have found your registration select Submit Virtual Results > Enter in your miles > then select Submit Results
Method 2: Submit Virtual Results from Your RunSignUp Profile
  • Navigate to your RunSignup profile by selecting the Profile Icon at the top right-hand corner.

  • Under your Upcoming Events > Select Submit Virtual Results > Enter in your Time > select Submit Time.

  • To ensure that all messages are sent at an appropriate time of day for you, you will also be asked for your time zone.

What is a Virtual Race?                             

A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose and on any dates that you choose within the given time frame. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Running and walking on your own, or with friends!

Registration for Ewing 250's Virtual Challenge opens December 21, 2025, and it's completely free to join! Sign up at any time, to start working toward your 250-mile goal. How you hit 250 miles is totally up to you! From grocery runs to evening dog walks, teeing off on the golf course to exploring scenic trails, every step counts. Just complete the challenge by December 31, 2026!
