Fiddlers 5k, Kids Fun Run, and Family Fun Day
About the Event
The Athens State University Alumni Association is hosting the annual Fiddlers 5k Race, Kids Fun Run, and Family Fun Day event. The proceeds from this event will provide scholarships benefit for new and current students. Also, proceeds will benefit the Nazaretian Scholarship in honor of Dr. Angeline Nazaretian. This fun day will feature an inflatable slide, bouncy house, and free hamburgers and hot dogs.
Our USAT certified race route will begin and end at Athens State University and will showcase the historical district in Athens. Our free Kids fun run will start and end on Athens State Campus and will be highlighted by an appearance from Hebrew the Bear. Our goal is to have 250 runner, showcase the history and beauty of Athens, and provide our community with a family friendly event that everyone can participate in.
Join fellow runners on September 26, 2026 for the Fiddlers 5k, Kids Fun Run, and Family Fun Day. It's a fantastic 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Athens.

The USATF Certified Course will begin and end at Athens State University. This is an out and back course. Course Number: USATF AL23020JE Overall Male and Female 1st-3rd Overall Masters Male and Female 1st-3rd (First over 40 over the line, not on the overall podium) 10-19 Male and Female 1st-3rd 20-29 Male and Female 1st-3rd 30-39 Male and Female 1st-3rd 40-49 Male and Female 1st-3rd 50-59 Male and Female 1st-3rd 60-69 Male and Female 1st-3rd Over 70 Male and Female 1st-3rd This event follows the standard running industry policy: All entry fees are non-refundable. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control such as a natural disaster or emergency or as required to protect the safety of participants and staff. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. We reserve the right to change the details of the event without prior notice. Thank you for your understanding on this matter. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations prior to Aug. 29, 2026 Packet pickup: Friday Sept 25th from 4:00pm-7:00pm and Saturday Sept 26th from 6:00am-6:45am at the Nazaretian House Welcome Center located at the entrance of Founders Circle.
