Fifth Street Cross (Weekly Cyclocross and 5k Series)
About this race
Each Thursday starting September 3rd and running until November 19th, includes one 5k-ish run and two cyclocross races. Registration opens at 5:00p. The 5k-ish is 2x laps starting at 6:00pm. The first bike race is 4x laps and starts at 6:30pm. We take a break between races to check your lights or figure out why you’re here in the first place. The second race is three laps in the opposite direction. We keep score, but as long as you start the race, you’re winning!
Onsite registration opens at 5:00p.
About the Course
You run at the Emmaus Compost Center (it’s not a dump!) between the tape of the cyclocross course. This will the 21st year of Fifth Street Cross! The course is twisty and turny and usually a lot slower than most people think any reasonable running course should be. For this reason, we believe it to be the best cross country race course in the history of Emmaus. You’re welcome.

Race Rules
- Don’t be a dick.
- 5th place is First.
- Promoter’s ruling is final.
- We will make every reasonable attempt to provide accurate results.
- All results are final.
- Don’t break the tape.
- Patronize our sponsors.
- If you get hurt, it’s your own fault.
- Sign a damn waiver
- You must check in with registration staff to be counted in the results.
- Seriously, don’t be a dick.
Fifth Street Cross began as a cyclocross bike race series, and you can participate in both. You can register for both here for a flat fee of $20. So much fun to be had, so much racing to do! Scoring for the run/ride will be based on your place in the run and first bike race (4x laps) only.

5k-ish Run Week 1
2 laps, Counterclockwise direction
5k-ish Run Week 2
2 laps, Clockwise direction. Golden Coins Treasure Hunt! Each coin is a bonus point for the season standings with a golden pot available worth 100 points (if those coins make it to the finish!)
5k-ish Run Week 3
2 laps, Counterclockwise direction. Predictor Run 1! The runners who are closest to their guessed time will win!
5k-ish Run Week 4
2 laps, Clockwise direction. Top-10 ranked runners have to start with their shoes untied.
5k-ish Run Week 5
2 laps, Counterclockwise direction. Handlebar run. Top-20 runners have to run with a handlebar. If you finish without the handlebar, you don't get points!
5k-ish Run Week 6
2 laps, Clockwise direction. Predictor run! This is in the opposite direction from week 3's predictor run. The runners who are closest to their guessed time will win!
5k-ish Run Week 7
2 laps, Counterclockwise direction. Roulette Week with random points assigned to the finishing places.
5k-ish Run Week 8
2 lap race, Clockwise. Shortcut night! Grab a drink or a donut or both. And when we run out, you have to do 10 push-ups or burpees!
5k-ish Run Week 9 HALLOWEEN
2 laps, Counterclockwise. This is our costume race! You must wear a costume, or you will wear the cone of shame! Best dressed gets a special prize from our sponsors!
5k-ish Week 10
2 laps, Clockwise. We run in the dark, so bring your lights!
5k-ish Run Week 11
2 laps, Counterclockwise. Run in the dark, so bring your lights!
5k-ish Week 12 SEASON FINALE
2 laps Clockwise. Double Points no matter what! We find the season champion tonight!
