Footsteps for Families: 5k, Walk & Kids Run

5K Run/Walk, Kids Fun Run & Family Fun Day!

Take Steps to End Child Abuse, Keep Children Safe & Families Together! This event serves as both an awareness and promotional opportunity for Safe Families for Children.

• 5K Run
  • A timed race for runners of all ages and abilities.
  • Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age category (categories TBA)
  • Monetary prizes will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. (1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50)
• Walk Non-Competitive (not timed)
  • Walk for families/participants.
• Kids Fun Run/Walk (100 meters, FREE)
  • A fun run for children of all ages will be run on the safety of the Harlem HS track (100 meters).
  • All participants will receive a medal and a small prize.
  • Must be under 10 years old
  • MUST register and will receive a bib
• Family Fun Day
  • Enjoy music, free food, games, activities, face painting, giveaways, and more!

Additional Information:

• The 5k course will include the scenic Willow Creek Path.
• There will be very few traffic crossings.
• Specific directions will be sent to every registrant.
• No inline skates or pets please!

Schedule:

• 8:30am - Doors Open 
• 9:00am - 5k Competitive Runners
• 9:15am - 5k Walkers
• 10:00am - Kids Fun Run

Join fellow runners on April 10, 2027 for the Footsteps for Families: 5k, Walk & Kids Run. It's a fantastic 5K, 1.6K featuring a flat and fast course in Machesney Park.
