She started working for GE in 1918 and through her career she developed technology in thin films like what we know now as "invisible" glass. In this technology the film layer in the glass coating canceling the visible light reflected.

She was an aircraft engineer for the Royal Aircraft Establishment, and during WW2 designed an fuel flow regulator became an integral part of the Royal Air Force aircraft.
