For more than 50 years Canine Companions has been transforming lives by placing expertly trained service dogs with people living with disabilities—at no cost to them! And what better way to celebrate these hardworking dogs than by joining us for a fun-filled morning supporting their incredible mission?

When you sign up for our 5K run/walk, you’re doing more than just hitting the pavement—you’re helping GIVE A DOG A JOB and changing lives! You’ll be running and walking alongside fellow dog lovers, puppy raisers, and service dog teams, all coming together to provide greater independence to adults, children, and veterans with disabilities.
🐕 Canine Companions service dogs are provided at no charge to those who need them—let’s help make more life-changing placements possible!

High School Team - 10 or more students ages 13-18 create a team for flat price of $50
Students ages 13-18 can create a team of at least 10 members for $50
Elementary & Middle School Age Teams - 10 or more elementary and middle school age students can create a team for a flat price of $50.

September VIRTUAL Give A Dog a Job 60 Miles in 30 days!
September is national service dog month! Show your support by walking/running/swimming/biking 60 miles in the month of September. Everyone who completes the 30 or 60 mile challenge AND uploads their miles will receive an official challenge sticker. and bandana. All items will be mailed during the first few weeks of October. PHOTO CONTEST! Virtual Challenge participants will be able to enter five Virtual Challenge photo contests during the Virtual period(Sept 1-30-22). Voting will occur after the Virtual Challenge ends on Sept 30th. You will be able to submit photos during the virtual period, and depending on the content of your photo(s), you will be automatically entered into one or more of the following contests: Sponsor Photos Pay tribute to our Sponsors! This event would not be possible without the contributions and support of our fantastic sponsors: Main Line Brewery, McGeorge Toyota, Luck Road Run Shop, C&F Bank, Off Leash K-9 training, Small Big Dog Naturals, Virginia Family Dentistry, Sneeds Nursery, All Fur Love Bakery, Pretties and Papers, Share your photos with us! Group Photo Celebrate your accomplishment with family, friends, or team members during or after your virtual run, walk, bike or swim. Everything Else This is a catch-all category for any great photos we receive that don’t fit into any of the other four categories. This is your chance to get creative with your 30 and 60 mile challenges! After voting ends, a prize will be awarded to the winner in each category.
