Goose Day 5K

The 48th annual Goose Day 5K Run is an integral part of Mifflin County's unique Goose Day celebration in late September.

The course through the south end of Lewistown is fast, flat and perfect for a PR. There are trophies for the first overall male and female, first masters (40 & over) male and female, and the top three finishers in nine male and female age groups (10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over).

All pre-registered runners will receive a technical race t-shirt. 

Proceeds from the race, which is organized by the Juniata Valley Striders, support youth and high school running programs, which includes the JV Junior Striders youth programs, and in 2026, the New Balance National Indoor Distance Medley champions and NB Outdoor DMR runners-up. We also award four $500 scholarships annually to graduating senior cross country and track and field student-athletes in Mifflin and Juniata Counties.

Family Rates--$40 for two, $55 for three, $70 for four ($15 for each additional family member)

Race Day Registration (paper application only)--$35 (ALL RUNNERS)  

Race Day Registration begins at 7:45 am at the Old Mifflin County Courthouse, Monument Square, Lewistown, PA

Join fellow runners on September 26, 2026 for the Goose Day 5K. It's a fantastic 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Lewistown.
