Grand Ledge Education Foundation Comet Chase 5K
About this race
The Grand Ledge Education Foundation Comet Chase 5k will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Grand Ledge, Michigan. All events begin and end at the Brandt-Spalsbury Track & Field Facility (1211 Lohne Dr. Grand Ledge, MI 48837).
A 1 mile run for youth 13 & under starts at 8:00 AM and a 400m Kids Race begins at 8:30 AM. Both events will take place on the track.
The 5k race begins at 8:45 AM on the track and travels a well marked course through town before finishing on the track.
All proceeds go to benefit the Grand Ledge Education Foundation a 501(c)3 organization that works to provide extra funding for special projects within the Grand Ledge Public Schools classrooms.
Pricing: 5k in person - $35 until 5/30/26 then $45. The Virtual 5k - $40 until 5/30/26 then $50. 1 mile kids race and 400 yd dash kids race - $20 until 5/30/26 then $25.
5K Groupings: 10 and under, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,
35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
Awards & Prizes:
Post race refreshments for all registrants and chance at race day door prizes
5k run/walk: Awards for the top 3 male and female winners in each division. All participants receive a finisher medal. 5k participants receive a technical t-shirt and draw string bag which are guaranteed to all entries received prior to June 5th. T-shirts available as supplies last after that date.
Virtual 5k run/walk: All participants receive a finisher medal. Virtual 5k participants receive a technical t-shirt and draw string bag which are which are guaranteed to all entries received prior to June 5th. T-shirts available as supplies last after that date. Shirts and medals will be mailed to participants beginning week of June 23rd.
400m kids race (10 and under): All participants will receive a Comet Squeeze Ball.Youth races receive a cotton blend t-shirt with entries by June 5th. T-shirts available as supplies last after that date

Packet Pickup: Friday, June 12 from 4:30 PM-7:00 PM at the Sawdon Administration Building 220 Lamson Street Grand Ledge, MI 48837 Google Maps and morning of the race starting at 7:00 AM. Pickup takes place at At the Grand Ledge High School Track & Field Facility 1211 Lohne Dr. Grand Ledge, MI 48837 Google Maps

The race will be timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be posted during the race and live on this website.

Comet Chase 5K
Race Begins and ends at the Grand Ledge High School Track & Field Facility and runs on quiet residential streets in the city of Grand Ledge. 1st place medals to the male and female winners in each division. Finisher Medals, shirts and draw string bags for all participants.
1 mile youth race
For youth ages 13 and under. The race will take place on the Grand Ledge High School Track. Top 10 finishers receive medals. Comet Squeeze Balls and shirts to all participants.
Virtual 5K
Finisher Medals and shirts for all participants. Medals, shirts and draw string bags will be mailed to participants Beginning the week of June 23rd.
