Thanks for joining us at the 27th Great Pumpkin 5k Run. It's a terrific event and has been rated in the "Top 50 running events in New England" for many years. Famous runners that have graced our 'rolling' course include 4 time NYC & Boston Marathon Champion Bill Rogers, USA Olympic Marathon qualifiers and European elites. Founded by a runner, Marty Schaivone, who taught Biology at Trumbull High for 35 years, we pride ourselves on high quality well designed T-shirts, terrific food, plenty of fluids & lots of fun. Our THS Mens & Womens Choir perform at the opening ceremony while many students & faculty run & volunteer. Our chip timed 5K age group awards run three deep: 9 & under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ and even an elite 90+ division. Last year for the first time in our history we had finishers in this category- 90 years young Betty Holroyd, and 90 yr old Herman Bershtein ! Our food buffet includes the Taco Loco truck, pizza, fruits, muffins and fluids. We appreciate your feedback after the race-please let us know where we can improve !
