THE 41st ANNUAL NORTHWELL HEALTH GREAT SOUTH BAY RUN
Features 3 USATF-certified run courses, choose from the 13.1 mile Half Marathon, a 10K Run, and a perfect 5k Family Fun Run.
Each race begins and ends at the Bay Shore Marina Park, enjoy scenic courses as you run through the historic Bay Shore downtown area passing beautiful residential homes located by the Brightwaters Lakes, Cascades, and Canals. Finish with unobstructed views of Fire Island, and the Great South Bay!!
Join fellow runners on October 3, 2026 for the GREAT SOUTH BAY RUN. It's a fantastic Half-Marathon, 10K, 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Bay Shore.
Races Offered
Running
1/2 Marathon
*** Athletes must maintain a 14-minute mile. Athletes must pass mile 5.5 (Main Street & South Clinton Ave before 8:45am. This is 1:15 mins after the race starts. Athletes who reach this point after 8:45am will be directed to the finish line and will only complete the 10k course *** Due to our permit and police support on the course, this strict time cut off must be enforced, no exceptions. The 13.1 mile race begins and ends at the Town of Islip Bay Shore Marina and runs through the streets of Bay Shore and Brightwaters. Enjoy scenic course as you run through the historic Bay Shore downtown and pass beautiful residential homes, the pristine Brigthwaters Lakes, Cascades and Canal, unobstructed views of Fire Island, and a panoramic view of the Great South Bay!!
10K Run/Walk
The 10K race begins and ends at the Town of Islip Bay Shore Marina and runs through the streets of Bay Shore and Brightwaters. Enjoy scenic course as you run through the historic Bay Shore downtown and pass beautiful residential homes, the pristine Brigthwaters Lakes, Cascades and Canal, unobstructed views of Fire Island, and a panoramic view of the Great South Bay!!
5K Run/Walk
The 5k race begins and ends at the Town of Islip Bay Shore Marina and runs through the streets of Bay Shore and Brightwaters. Enjoy scenic course as you run through the historic Bay Shore downtown and pass beautiful residential homes, the pristine Brigthwaters Lakes, Cascades and Canal, unobstructed views of Fire Island, and a panoramic view of the Great South Bay!!
5K Jogging Stroller Run/Walk
PLEASE NOTE:- we ask that all runners with jogging strollers start at the rear of the field. There are no awards for athletes pushing strollers, this is NOT A RACE. The 5k race begins and ends at the Town of Islip Bay Shore Marina and runs through the streets of Bay Shore and Brightwaters.
