Overall awards, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, Male and Female in the 5k run, and Overall awards 1st and 2nd, Male and Female in the 5k walk are only awarded to teams of a human and a dog. In addition, there is a first place award for the first male and female runner in the 5k without a dog. There are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Male and Female age group awards for the runners, no duplicate awards. There are many other special awards for dogs and their humans, including the "Gulliver Rue" Award for the first Vizsla to finish and the "Hobie Award", presented to a family or dog who best exemplifies the spirit of the fight against canine cancer- an essay submission is required prior to race day.
