"G'Day, Mates!!" Get ready for an exciting race experience as Cameron Park Zoo welcomes its newest residents - Australian Red Kangaroos! These incredible creatures are hopping into their new home, and we cannot wait for you to meet them during your race!

As you race the H-E-B Zoo Stampede course, imagine channeling the power and speed of the red kangaroo—the largest marsupial on Earth and Australia’s high-hopping heavyweight! These amazing animals can leap up to 25 feet in a single bound and hit speeds of 35 to 40 mph. That is some serious running inspiration!

Males can grow up to 6 feet tall and weigh around 200 pounds, while the speedy females—nicknamed "blue flyers"—are smaller, sleek, and blue grey in color. With powerful legs and tails that work like a third leg for balance and propulsion, kangaroos are built for movement across the wide-open plains of Australia.

Whether you are racing for a personal best or just leaping along for fun, channel your inner Roo and hop to it! Registration is limited to 850 runners. Early registration not only guarantees you a race spot, but also a T-shirt and finisher medal!!

IMPORTANT NOTES: Last year, for the first time in Zoo Stampede history, we sold out prior to Race Day.  This year, we are capping the race entry to 850 participants, so be sure and register as soon as possible for the Year of the Kangaroo!

Early packet pickup will be on Friday, November 7 at the Corwin, Estes & Jaynes Education Center from 4 pm to 7 pm located by the main entry gate. Saturday, November 8th Race Day packet pick up will be from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on site at Cameron Park Zoo in front the main entry door.  Your 5K entry will include a short sleeved cotton t-shirt; the 10K will include a long sleeved technical (dri-fit/technical) shirt, but again, shirts are only guaranteed if you have registered by October 20, 2025, at 11:59:59 pm.  Additional shirts are available for purchase during your registration process. 1K entries do not include a shirt but again, you have the option to purchase one for $15 during the registration process. Present your race bib to be granted zoo admission on race day only.

H-E-B’s Zoo Stampede is an important way to contribute to your zoo’s ability to provide advanced animal care and essential conservation work.  Get ready to hop to your 2025 Zoo Stampede finish line on November 8th!

Both the 5K and 10K are professionally timed and are USATF certified courses.
