Habitat of Greater Newark: Salute to Our Veterans 5K
About this race
This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate 40 years of building homes, strengthening neighborhoods, and creating brighter futures across Essex, Hudson, and Union Counties. 🎉
Our annual 5K proudly honors the brave men and women who have served our country. Through Habitat's affordable housing, critical home repair, and Community Resource Hub programs, we remain committed to supporting veterans by helping them build and maintain safe, stable places to call home. 🇺🇸❤️
Whether you're running for a personal best, walking with family and friends, or simply supporting a cause you believe in, every step you take helps create lasting change.
Your participation supports Habitat's mission to:
🏠 Build affordable homes
🔨 Preserve homeownership through critical repairs
🥫 Provide food security to local families
🪪 Restore vital identification documents
🤝 Connect veterans, seniors, and families with essential community resources
Following the race, stick around for our Community Resource Village, featuring local nonprofits, financial education, veteran services, health and wellness resources, volunteer opportunities, and more! 🌟
