Henry's Crusade against Epilepsy
About this race
Come join us for the 5th annual 5k run, one mile walk, and kids fun run to help raise money to end epilepsy! Kids fun run begins at 10:00am. The 5k and one mile walk will begin at 10:30am.
This event was inspired by our youngest son who had his first seizure the summer of 2019. He had a long journey with over 20 seizures in less than a year span. Throughout that time my husband and I always tried to find a "silver lining" with every episode and challenge that happened within the journey. This event is our silver lining and also our way to give back to others who have fought and are fighting the same battle!

Running
5k run
Course Directions for the walk: start on Tiger Lane in Biddeford 1. Run until you get to the end of Tiger Lane and take a right onto Hill Street (about .1 miles) 2. Go straight on Hill Street until you reach the intersection light of Hill Street and West Street (about .5 miles) 3. Take a right onto West Street and go straight until you reach Granite Street Ext. and take a right (about .4 miles) 4. Follow Granite Street Ext. until you get to the second entrance of St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be someone there directing you. (about .4 miles) 5. Follow the signs throughout the cemetery until you exit the cemetery and take a right back onto Granite Street Ext. You will exit through a different entrance. (about .4 miles) ***You will now run the race back the way you came*** 6. Follow Granite Street Ext. until you reach West Street and take a left onto West Street. (about .3 miles) 7. Follow West Street until you reach the stop light at the intersection of West Street and Hill Street. Take a left onto Hill Street. (about .4 miles) 8. Follow Hill Street until you reach Tiger Lane and take a left. (about .5 miles) 9. Run down Tiger Lane until you cross the finish line. (about .1 miles)
Kids fun run
This fun run will be between a quarter of a mile and a half of a mile.
Walk
Course Directions for the walk: start on Tiger Lane in Biddeford 1. Walk in front of Biddeford Intermediate School and cross at the crosswalk and take a right down the sidewalk 2. Follow the sidewalk down Hill Street until you reach the stop light at the intersection of Hill Street and West Street and take a left 3. Follow Hill West Street, in front of JFK and take a left at the second parking lot entrance of JFK. 4. Walk straight through the parking lot and past the fenced in playgrounds (which will be on your left) 5. The parking lot will open into a larger dirt parking lot behind a baseball field. Keep going until you reach the sidewalk that you started the race on 6. Follow the sidewalk straight until you cross the road in front of Biddeford Intermediate School and head toward the finish line (which is also the starting line).

Volunteers will be contacted via email to get availability. There will be various times and places in which people will be needed. Any help, no matter how little or how much, is appreciated!
