Hero Half Marathon
About this race
The Hero Half Marathon is a fundraising race and community event hosted by The Spark Foundation in partnership with Fayetteville Firefighters’ IAFF – Local 2866. Race proceeds benefit organizations that meet important community needs, increase fitness opportunities for the community, and make Fayetteville and Arkansas a great place to live, work, and play.
The Spark Foundation is all about encouraging our community to get active and stay active. We will award age group awards for the Top 3 male and female finishers in each age division for both the half marathon and quarter marathon.

*** Please note: In order to guarantee a race t-shirt (a long-sleeved tech hooded tee), you must register and select a size no later than September 12, 2026. If you register on or after September 12, 2026, we can no longer guarantee a race t-shirt. We will have some extra shirts available on race day, but please register before September 12, 2026, to ensure your shirt in your desired size.***

15 Week Half Marathon Training Program
Train for your hero! Training programs designed for beginner and experienced runners alike. Your 15-week training program fee includes a 15-week calendar, in person group runs, a training tank, nutrition, hydration, and injury prevention talks, and entry into the half marathon.

Half Marathon Firefighter Challenge- For Firefighters Running in Full Gear!
Are you a firefighter ready to take the ultimate running challenge?! By selecting this option you are committing to running the 13.1 mile Hero Half Marathon in full bunker gear! Eligible participants must be active duty firefighters (volunteers accepted too) Must run in full bunker gear provided by participant: helmet, coat, pants, and air pack (liners optional) Wildland gear acceptable Running shoes encouraged!
SuperHero 2k
We've partnered with the Arkansas chapter of Achilles International to bring a 2k for all ages, abilities, and paces! As a part of our programing we are happy to offer this race as a "pay your age" for all kids 15 and under! The 2k will begin just after all participants in the half marathon have started their race. The route for the 2k will be the first 2 kilometers of the half marathon course; 1 lap around the Northwest Arkansas Mall parking lot.
