About this race
When you register for the HoBOOken 5K race, you are running to support the mission of The Hoboken Shelter to end hunger and homelessness one person at a time. Since we opened our doors on 300 Bloomfield Street in 1982, we've been helping our neighbors in need move from crisis to stability while treating every person with care and dignity. Your support helps us provide 50 safe sleeps every night, 500 meals every day, and 1,000 showers a week. Thank you!

HoBOOken 5K
A beautiful flat and fast race, run through Hoboken with stunning views of the Manhattan Skyline. The race starts and finishes at Pier A, by the Hoboken PATH station. Come in your best Halloween costume for a chance to win the costume contest. Each year our talented judges search through hundreds of entries to select the best, most creative and original costumes. Great prizes for all categories.
Scary Scurry Kids Race
Halloween isn’t just for adults! Our Scary Scurry Kids’ Run is for children up to age 9. All kids are encouraged to get into the Halloween spirit with a runner-friendly costume! The race is less than a mile - the length varies depending on the child’s age, with the oldest kids running the length of Pier A. AGE GROUPS 2 years old 3-4 years old 5-6 years old 7-8 years old 9 and over Groups may be further divided as necessary. One parent or guardian may run with a child. No baby strollers, baby joggers or dogs are permitted on the course. We recommend that children run in their allocated heat.
