Sunday September 13, 2026 Holland Haven Marathon XIII: Running - Community - Celebration The Holland Haven Marathon offers runners a scenic experience along Lake Michigan, starting in Grand Haven and finishing in downtown Holland. This USATF certified marathon takes place in early September, providing mild weather and a final chance to qualify for the Boston Marathon. The Holland Haven Half Marathon starts at Camp Geneva and follows a picturesque route along Lakeshore Drive into Holland, featuring a mostly flat course on paved paths. The 8K Race serves as a perfect introduction to longer distances, with a flat, out-and-back course suitable for both novice and experienced runners. Holland Haven runners can also join virtually, earning a commemorative race medal regardless of their race-day attendance. Our 2026 event celebrates America's 250th birthday, honoring running, community, and national pride along one of West Michigan's most scenic routes. Creating beautiful memories for runners to celebrate with our entire Holland community.

The early September weekend allows for mild weather and a final opportunity to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Boston qualifying hopefuls can make the cut only one day before registration opens. Every race finisher receives a commemorative race medal. Those completing all 3 race distances in separate years earn the coveted Trifecta Medal.

8K Race

The Holland Haven 8K race is a great segue into longer distance races. The 8K race is a flat, out-and-back course. As a mid-distance road race, it is accessible enough for the novice runner yet incredibly challenging to experienced racers. All ages are welcome to run or walk the race. Every race finisher receives a commemorative race medal. Those completing all 3 race distances in separate years earn the coveted Trifecta Medal.
