About this race
I Ran the D is an annual 5K race that celebrates Detroit’s deep-rooted sports culture while promoting health and wellness in the community. Bringing together some of the world’s most passionate sports fans, the race supports programs that strengthen local youth initiatives and create lasting community impact.
Proceeds from the race directly benefit the Detroit Sports Commission’s Living Legacy Initiative, which focuses on advancing youth literacy, promoting active lifestyles for young people, and expanding access and pathways for girls in sports.
Since its inception in 2001, the Detroit Sports Commission has played a pivotal role in strengthening the region’s economy by attracting and hosting hundreds of regional, national, and international sporting events — including the 2024 NFL Draft and the upcoming 2027 NCAA Men’s Final Four — while ensuring all events deliver long-term community benefits.
The Detroit Sports Commission’s Living Legacy Initiative ensures that every sporting event hosted in the region leaves a positive impact on the local community. To date, the Living Legacy Initiative has invested more than $1.7 million into local programs across Detroit.
The I Ran the D 5k course offers runners a one-of-a-kind experience, weaving its way through downtown Detroit’s most famous landmarks, starting at Comerica Park, winding through the historic streets of Brush Park, and past Ford Field, before finishing back at Comerica Park, where runners can take a victory lap inside the ballpark around the outfield wall.
Registration includes a unique race experience through downtown Detroit, a custom hooded long-sleeve running shirt with all four Detroit pro sports teams, a custom bib, and a finisher’s medal.

DETROIT TIGERS One (1) BASIC 5K RACE REGISTRATION PLUS: Detroit Tigers Ticket Package which includes: - Two (2) lower-level tickets with pre-loaded with $10 of concession credit per ticket - You can select which game you want during the registration process - Each ticket comes preloaded with $10 in concession credit to use at any one of the main concession stands throughout the ballpark. - For more information, visit: Loaded Value FAQ | Detroit Tigers" - If participants want to add additional tickets later in registration, they will be for $30 per ticket which includes a $10 concession credit. - Additional Tickets will be issued for the same game which is chosen in your package. No Exceptions. Participants will choose from one of the following 2026 season games: - Monday, May 18th vs Guardians - Tuesday, May 19th vs Guardians - Wednesday, May 20th vs Guardians - Thursday, May 21st vs Guardians - Tuesday, May 26th vs Angels - Wednesday, May 27th vs Angels - Thursday, May 28th vs Angels When will I receive my tickets and how do I access them? - Tickets purchases will be loaded into the MLB Ballpark App approximately 10 days before the game date and will be under the email you registered wtih. FROM YOUR MOBILE DEVICE, access your tickets via the MLB Ballpark app. If you don't have the app: 1. Download the MLB Ballpark app via the iOS App Store or the Android Google Play Store 2. Create an MLB Ballpark app account with the same email used in this purchase. - If you have multiple MLB accounts, be sure to link the account number under your Order Details. 3. Detroit Pistons Race Package
DETROIT PISTONS One (1) BASIC 5K RACE REGISTRATION PLUS: Pistons Experience Packages which includes: - Two (2) 200-Level Corner Ticket to Detroit Pistons vs. Atlanta,- - Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Little Caesars Arena - Two (2) Post-Game Shot on Pistons Court at Little Caesars Arena(1 per ticket) - If participants want to add additional tickets later in registration, they will be for $22 per ticket the same amenities as above. - Additional Tickets will be issued for the same game which is chosen in your package. No Exceptions. When will I receive my tickets and how do I access them? - Tickets purchases will be transmitted to the Detroit Pistons approximately 10 days prior to the game. At that time they will process and load them into the Detroit Pistons App. Step-by-Step Mobile Ticket Access: 1. Download the App: Install the official Detroit Pistons app. 2. Log In: Use your registered email to access "My Pistons Tickets" 3. Select Game: Tap the specific game to view, transfer, or manage tickets. 4. Detroit Red Wings Race Package
DETROIT RED WINGS One (1) BASIC 5K RACE REGISTRATION PLUS: Detroit Red Wings Ticket Package which includes: - Two (2) upper-level tickets preloaded with $1o of concession credit per ticket. - You will select which game you want during the registration process. - If participants want to add additional tickets later in registration, they will be for $35 per ticket(and include a $10 concession credit) - Additional Tickets will be issued for the same game which is chosen in their package. No Exceptions. Participants will choose from one of the following Spring 2026 games: - Tuesday, March 24th vs Ottawa Senators - Sunday, April 5th vs Minnesota Wild - Tuesday, April 7th vs Columbus Blue Jackets When will I receive my tickets and how do I access them? - Tickets purchases will be loaded into the Detroit Red Wings App approximately 10 days before the game date and will be under the email you registered with Steps to Access Your Tickets: 1. Download the Detroit Red Wings mobile app (available on iOS and Android) for the easiest access. 2. Log In: Sign in with your Ticketmaster account credentials used to purchase the tickets. This will be the email you provided in race registration. 3. View Tickets: Navigate to the "Tickets" or "My Events" section within the app or website. 4. At the Arena: Display the ticket barcode on your phone for scanning at Little Caesars Arena. It is recommended to add your tickets to your mobile wallet (Apple Wallet or Google Pay) before arriving at the arena to avoid connectivity issues. Virtual participants will receive a T-Shirt and medal as part of their registration. Packets will be mailed out the week prior to the event. This price includes the shipping cost.
