Iceman Cometh Challenge
About the Event
The Iceman Cometh Challenge, presented by Trek, takes place on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The Ice Cycle Expo and packet pickup, presented by Michigan Bicycle Law, will be held Friday, November 6 at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, MI.
More than 5,400 men and women, along with 600 children across 77 age divisions, participate in Iceman weekend each year. The signature event is a roughly 30-mile point-to-point cross-country mountain bike race from Kalkaska to Traverse City, Michigan.
Additional events include the Meijer Slush Cup, Sno-Cone, and Pop-Cycle races, featuring a 9-mile beginner-friendly course and youth races for children 10 and under. Nearly 12,000 spectators line the course annually to experience the excitement of Iceman weekend.

For Professional or USAC Cat 1 Mountain Bikers Only. Must have valid USAC license or UCI license. This race is held on the same course as the Iceman Cometh Challenge Amateur race
Iceman Junior (18 & under)
This race is for those 18 years of age or under. This race is held on the same course as the Iceman Cometh Challenge Amateur race

An 8-10 mile race that is starts and ends for Timber Ridge Resort

Meijer Sno Cone
Due to the generosity of Iceman riders, this event is free. The Meijer Sno Cone race is for kids 10 and under that will ride ~1/4 mile on balance bikes. Line-up begins at 3:25pm
Meijer Pop-Cycle
Due to the generosity of Iceman riders, this event is free. The Meijer Pop-Cycle race is kids 10 and under that will ride 1 mile, on pedal bikes. Line-up begins at 2:40pm
